Get The Facts

We need to all be more aware of the increasing problem of depression and suicide. According to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s 2016 study, every 12.3 minutes another American is lost to suicide. There are more than 1.1 million suicide attempts annually in the US. Veterans make up 22.2% of the known suicides.

In fact, the suicide rate is now at a 30 year high with a 24 percent increase from 1984 to 2014 with a current rate at 13% per 100,000 people (CDC Study, April 2016).

Suicide is difficult to talk about. There are stigmas as there have been with other illnesses that have not been understood. We need to understand what is happening so that we can all help.
